A Tough Starting Day
Posted by Alicia Overby on 5th Jun 2018
I know life can look perfect and beautiful on facespace land...but yesterday morning, despite the all-together beautiful teenager in the pictures, was horrible. It was quite positively the worst horse show we have had to date. The day did redeem itself, but I am telling you there were tears by many and words said that shouldn’t have been. Lilly held her frustration where it belonged almost the whole time, only momentarily redirecting it to me once. She then felt bad about that and bawled even more...on top of the endless crying due to a very poorly behaved horse the rest of the morning. The stars were not lining up for her yesterday....despite her dedication to preparation. But folks...that’s why this sport, a sport that depends on another living, breathing, THINKING thing is so difficult. I’m so glad yesterday morning ended. I was very done. So was Lilly. We spent the rest of the day running and having fun on my horse Jack

Alicia is wife, mother, and creator of Baby Elephant Ears. Baby Elephant Ears was created out of parental concern, not financial desire. In 2005, when their second child was an infant, he cried all the time and just couldn't seem to get comfortable.
After seeking advice and suggestion from the medical community and alternative medicine, they eventually ended up in the chiropractors office where their baby was successfully treated for a subluxation, discomfort most likely the result of the strain during labor, which was now being exacerbated by the normal lack of infant neck strength. Only proper neck, head, and back alignment would offer him relief. When they couldn't find a product to give their baby the necessary support, Alicia took matters into her own hands and crafted her own infant support pillow. The first Baby Elephant Ears was born!
