Time flies and a look into the beginnings….

Time flies and a look into the beginnings….

21st Feb 2017

Time flies folks. That’s no joke. It’s the whole cliche thing about other parents telling you, “Cherish every moment. Before you know it, it’s gone!”….I GET IT…it is! It’s true and I’m not even all the way to the end of this parenting journey!

As I was thinking on this the other day I remembered that I used to blog. It was such a joy…a release and at times a moment of reflection amidst the massive craziness that ensued around me. For the record…I had 4 babies in less than 4 years! You read that correctly…4 single children. It was a lot. It still is. But blogging let me recall the things that my brain couldn’t comprehend to hold onto and remember the next day (who am I kidding…I probably didn’t recall my own name some days). So why did I quit? Why have I not blogged for 5 whole stinking years? I am so frustrated that I have gone that long….and so thankful that I ever did it…all at the same moment.

So to honor those memories, those days and those forgotten moments, I am reliving them here. Here on my Baby Elephant Ears blog I am going to introduce you to the beginnings of my life as a mother, a business owner, and a hot mess!

Over the next several weeks I am going to post random blog pieces to share…and if you're lucky I’ll post a link so you can indulge your brain in all the craziness if you feel so inclined.

So folks…pull up a chair and get ready to be a fly on my wall!

infant support pillow

Written by Alicia Overby - Founder & President of Baby Elephant Ears

Alicia is wife, mother, and creator of Baby Elephant Ears. Baby Elephant Ears was created out of parental concern, not financial desire. In 2005, when their second child was an infant, he cried all the time and just couldn't seem to get comfortable.

After seeking advice and suggestion from the medical community and alternative medicine, they eventually ended up in the chiropractors office where their baby was successfully treated for a subluxation, discomfort most likely the result of the strain during labor, which was now being exacerbated by the normal lack of infant neck strength. Only proper neck, head, and back alignment would offer him relief. When they couldn't find a product to give their baby the necessary support, Alicia took matters into her own hands and crafted her own infant support pillow. The first Baby Elephant Ears was born!
