Tips for Throwing a Kid Halloween Bash

20th Oct 2016

Halloween is almost here and it’s a perfect occasion to throw a fun party for your kids! Kids love all of the activities associated with the fall and you can add a spooky touch to make them Halloween themed. Invite your kids’ classmates, friends, and neighbors and get ready for some delicious food and awesome party games! A little bit of planning will be required but have your kids help out so you’ll have your party ready in no time. Here are some tips for organizing your Halloween party for a night to remember!

1. Party Food

Halloween candy is a given but you should also have some other snacks and food so the little ones don't eat too much sugar. Ordering a pizza is easy and you can have other finger foods like chicken nuggets or quesadillas and maybe order sandwiches for the adults. For an awesome party spread, give your food some silly and spooky names like spooky ghost pizzas, hot dog mummies and deviled egg eyeballs. 2. Spooky Games

Keep your guests entertained with some party games and activities for kids of different ages. Bobbing for apples and pin the stem on the pumpkin is fun for younger kids as well as crafts like decorating trick or treat bags and making Halloween masks. Older kids can keep busy with a scavenger hunt or you can fill boxes with funny, creepy textured items and have kids guess what's inside while blindfolded. Use spaghetti for intestines, ketchup for blood and peeled grapes for eyeballs. Give out prizes for correct guesses and play spooky music to get everyone in the Halloween spirit.

  • 3. Goody Bags

  • Give each of your party guests a goody bag to keep treats, party favors and their Halloween crafts. You can even buy blank tote bags and art supplies so guests can decorate their own bag for another party activity. Have them all paint their own jack o’lanterns with their name on the top so their bag won’t get lost.

    4. Creative Invites

Plan your guest list by inviting the same amount of kids as your child's age. If your daughter is 5, let her invite five of her friends. If your son is 8, let him invite eight friends. This will keep the amount of guests at the party more manageable. Once you've planned your guest list you are ready to start sending out invitations. You can have your kids help create the invitations by decorating them with Halloween images and stickers and send them out in the mail, or you can easily create them on your computer using clip-art images and send via email.

    infant support pillow

Written by Alicia Overby - Founder & President of Baby Elephant Ears

Alicia is wife, mother, and creator of Baby Elephant Ears. Baby Elephant Ears was created out of parental concern, not financial desire. In 2005, when their second child was an infant, he cried all the time and just couldn't seem to get comfortable.

After seeking advice and suggestion from the medical community and alternative medicine, they eventually ended up in the chiropractors office where their baby was successfully treated for asubluxation, discomfort most likely the result of the strain during labor, which was now being exacerbated by the normal lack of infant neck strength. Only proper neck, head, and back alignment would offer him relief. When they couldn't find a product to give their baby the necessary support, Alicia took matters into her own hands and crafted her own infant support pillow. The first Baby Elephant Ears was born!
