8 Quick Breakfast Ideas to Fuel Your Kids’ Day

30th Aug 2016

quick breakfast ideasThe new school year has just about arrived, which means your children will soon be running around the house in a rush each morning before the bus arrives. As parents struggle to get ready for work and send their kids off to school, there’s usually very little time for breakfast. Even if it’s something small and simple, children need a breakfast to get their day started. Here are some quick breakfast ideas for them:

1. Peanut Butter, Banana Toast

There’s not many options that can be easier than toast. With this superfood twist, the only difference is smearing peanut butter on the toast instead of butter, and adding some banana slices to make it delicious!

2. Fruit Smoothie

Fruit smoothies are perfect for the early morning rush. Grab some Greek yogurt, milk, and a couple handfuls of your child’s favorite frozen fruit. Blend it all up, and then you can even put it into a to-go cup for them as they get ready for school.

3. Oatmeal and Eggs

This idea includes two of the most simple breakfast items: plain oatmeal and eggs. Prepare the oatmeal as usual, and the egg however your child likes it, and you have an easy, quick breakfast. Feel free to throw in some spices and cheese to really make it yummy.

4. Avocado & Egg Toast

This is the ultimate power-packed breakfast idea. Eggs and avocados are two delicious foods that are filled with healthy minerals and protein. Simply make an avocado spread for the toast, and then throw an over-easy egg on top.

5. Protein Shake

Create your own protein shake at home to fuel your kids’ day right. A favorite of ours includes peanut butter, a whole banana, milk, and protein powder of your choice. This shake will taste amazing, and it’ll be extremely healthy for your little one.

6. PB&J Waffle

This is an easy spin-off of a classic sandwich. Rather than using plain white bread, grab some whole-grain waffles next time you’re at the store. Your child will love the crispy, crunchy waffles as the outsides of their peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

7. Breakfast Burrito

A breakfast burrito can contain so many different delicious breakfast foods, and you can wrap it up within minutes. Here are some great ideas to include in your burrito: scrambled eggs, avocado, beans, cheese, lettuce, potatoes, peppers, onions.

8. Loaded Apple Slices

It doesn’t get much easier than slicing up a couple apples and loading them up with goodness. Once you have the slices ready, smear on the peanut butter or almond butter, add some oats, chia seeds, and/or granola. You can even throw the apple slices in a to-go container with a peanut butter dip on the side!

Alicia is wife, mother, and creator of Baby Elephant Ears. Baby Elephant Ears was created out of parental concern, not financial desire. In 2005, when their second child was an infant, he cried all the time and just couldn't seem to get comfortable.

After seeking advice and suggestion from the medical community and alternative medicine, they eventually ended up in the chiropractors office where their baby was successfully treated for asubluxation, discomfort most likely the result of the strain during labor, which was now being exacerbated by the normal lack of infant neck strength. Only proper neck, head, and back alignment would offer him relief. When they couldn't find a product to give their baby the necessary support, Alicia took matters into her own hands and crafted her own infant support pillow. The first Baby Elephant Ears was born!
